Semester has come to the end... it is now exam week

This is during our last class for this sem..
my Master of Computer Science students, all of them are working and studying as part time students.
Attending classes during weekends and nights, need a lot of scarifice.
Sometimes couldn't come to class due to working commitments ..have to go out-stations, workshops etc. Nevertheless, they are good students ...

The 10th AIRS'2014

AIRS 2014: The Tenth Asia Information Retrieval Societies Conference

AIRS 2014: The Tenth Asia Information Retrieval Societies Conference 2014  was held in Kuching, Sarawak, MALAYSIA on 3rd – 5th December 2014. The conference was hosted by the Malaysia Society of Information Retrieval and Knowledge Management (PECAMP), together with Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (UKM), Universiti Teknologi MARA (UiTM), Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM), Universiti Malaysia Sarawak (UNIMAS), Universiti Pertahanan Nasional Malaysia (UPNM), International Islamic University Malaysia (IIUM), Universiti Tun Hussein Onn (UTHM) and Kolej Universiti Islam Antarabangsa Selangor (KUIS).
AIRS Conference is an annual event organised together with the Asia Information Retrieval Society (http://research.microsoft.com/en-us/groups/airs/) since 2004. The Asia Information Retrieval Societies Conference (AIRS) aims to bring together researchers and developers to exchange new ideas and latest achievements in the field of Information Retrieval. The scope of the conference covers applications, systems, technologies and theoretical aspects of information retrieval with the following tracks.

10 places where anyone can learn to code


Teens, tweens and kids are often referred to as “digital natives.” Having grown up with the Internet, smartphones and tablets, they’re often extraordinarily adept at interacting with digital technology. But Mitch Resnick, who spoke at TEDxBeaconStreet, is skeptical of this descriptor. Sure, young people can text and chat and play games, he says, “but that doesn’t really make you fluent.”
Fluency, Resnick proposes in this TED Talk, comes not through interacting with new technologies, but through creating them. The former is like reading, while the latter is like writing. He means this figuratively — that creating new technologies, like writing a book, requires creative expression — but also literally: to make new computer programs, you actually must write the code.

Last month on 30th October 2014 our class went for an industrial visit to CARI.COM.MY

It used to be the FIRST Malaysian search engine created in 1996, but now it no longer a search engine, but more towards a community based portal.
